The Management of QK Cold Stores (Marston) Limited are committed to working with our customers to ensure the safety and legality of the products we handle on their behalf.

QK Cold Stores will implement this through EFSIS certification, use of best practice; information; instruction; supervision; training; and partnerships with our customers.

All reasonably practicable measures will be taken to achieve a satisfactory standard of performance in matters of food hygiene, and progressive improvements will be actively sought in an attempt to achieve full compliance with the Food Safety act 1990, the General Food regulations 2004, the Food Hygiene regulations 2006 and other associated Regulations.

All products will be received, stored, despatched and handled in a safe and hygienic way and to the standard required by the customer. All products will also be protected from contamination by pests, chemical, or physical contaminants.

QK Cold Stores (Marston) Ltd will ensure that the appropriate level of food hygiene and safety training will be received by all employees with refresher training when required.

This will have a resource implication and the General Manager will take this into account when setting budgets, so that funding can be made available for product safety and legality improvements and the provision of any expert advice.

QK Cold Stores will have documented procedures to demonstrate and ensure management control at receipt, stored and despatched stages.

Quality systems include:

  • The use of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points ( HACCP) evaluation of processes.
  • General and specific audits
  • Product traceability
  • Product hold and recall procedures
  • Temperature control
  • Document control

QK Cold Stores (Marston) Ltd will ensure personal hygiene standards of all employees through instruction and training, with fitness to work, return to work procedures and medical examinations when required.

QK Cold Stores will actively encourage our customers in the execution of audits.

The Company Quality Policy will be reviewed and updated as necessary whenever circumstances dictate, or at intervals of no greater than two years.
